Our Pastor

The minsistry of Rev. James P. Gause is a demonstration of what is meant by Godly Leadership. Rev. Gause’s godly leadership can be illustrated by his presentation of life that “Its not in the land its in the man”, his commitment to the ministry, his congregation, family and community.

Rev. Gause is a native of Brittons Neck Community located in Marion County, South Carolina. He was reared under the religious teachings of Mrs. Eiffie Dell Gause and the late Mr. King Gause. He is married to the former Brenda Graves. Their forty years of marital bliss and their love and commitment to each other can be viewed through the eyes of their children and grandchildren.

Possessing a commitment to education, Rev. Gause was educated through the Britton’s Neck Public School System and Morris College School of Religion. In 1974, Rev. Gause was licensed to preach and later ordained as an Itinerant Deacon (1979) and an Itinerant Elder (1984).

In addition to serving as pastor of Greater St. James AME Church, Rev. Gause also served as pastor at Union Chapel AME Church and Mt. Pisgah AME Church in Galivants Ferry, SC; Mount Zion AME Church in Burgees Community of Myrtle Beach, SC and Williams Chapel AME Church in Nichols, SC. Rev. Gause also served as Supply Pastor at Bethel AME Church in Brittons Neck, SC and Popular AME Church in the Popular Community of Longs, SC.

Rev. Gause is inspired and live  daily by, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens  me” Philippians 4:13.  He is indeed a true man of GOD.
